  1. Goal: Identify and rectify points of inefficiencies in fuel-cell system.

Proposed 3 methodologies (water heater, heat storage, electricity generator) to increase energy efficiency of fuel-cell systems, complete with analysis & necessary thermodynamics/fluid dynamics calculations.
  2. Goal: Improve the estimation process of the price of the yacht.

Developed a statistical predictive tool using a Pearson Correlation Matrix in Excel to determine cost of production of a new yacht. Used when presenting a customer with an initial estimate of the yacht.
  3. Prior to the development of the tool, the client would approach the company with specifications for their yacht & the company would respond with theoretical estimates regarding costs of productions that were largely inaccurate as they had no sound way of creating an accurate estimate. This resulted in multiple corrections & meetings between the two parties until an accurate estimate could be determined.

Analyzed data from all previously manufactured yachts, established relationships between certain divisions of the yachts that affected the cost of the yacht (e.g. number of engines and number of water tanks in the yacht), and created the predictive tool. The tool accepted a few inputs, such as number of tanks & number of engines, and presented the resultant weight of the yacht that determined an accurate guess of the cost. Reduced number of required meetings between client and engineers and accelerated purchase progression.

  4. Goal: Increase speed of assembly of exhaust pipe holders.

Designed and manufactured a prototype to help secure the base plates of exhaust pipe holders at specified angles during assembly using waste metal. Increased speed of assembly of exhaust pipes & reduced wastage of material.
